What is RetireWithLess.com (I want to retire with more not less)

Of course, it would be great to retire with more but wouldn’t it be nice to be able to retire with less? This is an online retirement planning tool that you can use to see where you are in saving for those retirement years. The two dashboards show you the progress from today to your retirement day and then from the retirement day to well, the end. Hopefully, you will find this tool and the advice helpful in your journey to retire with less.

How Does the Bucket System Work?

The bucket system is how you allocate your money in retirement. Bucket one is your cash bucket, bucket two is your bond bucket and bucket three is your stock bucket. You want to keep 2-3 years of annual expenses in the first bucket and 4-7 years of annual expenses in the third bucket. Anything left over goes in the last bucket. This application allows you to customize your buckets so don’t feel like you are locked into a single configuration.

Where is my data stored and is it safe?

The simple answer is yes. In fact, no data is actually moved outside your device. Currently, we don’t use cloud storage or any external data storage to handle your information. The information you put into the application is stored within the browser in something called Local Storage. With local storage, web applications can store data locally within the user’s browser. Before HTML5, application data had to be stored in cookies, included in every server request. Local storage is more secure, and large amounts of data can be stored locally, without affecting website performance.

Can I share data between my devices?

The simple answer is yes. We have added an option that you can store your data on Google Sheets which does allow you to share data since the application pulls information from the same source.

Why is there a difference between my retirement income and the bucket income?

The retirement system takes into account your current allocation of cash, bond, and stocks to predict the income you may have. However, the bucket system will alter this allocation which in turn will impact the income you may receive.

I Need to Clear My Data and Start Over. What can I do?

On the Tour page, there is a gray button at the top. Click that button and all data will be reset to the original setting
